| NZFT is a New Zealand Foreign Trust.
It is a concept ideal for UK expats holding funds in UK pension funds and who have lived abroad for five or more UK tax years. A transfer can be made to a QROPS and then transferred to an individually tailored New Zealand Foreign Trust or NZFT.
Also, a NZFT can be established for a resident of the UK wishing to hold funds in an offshore trust offering complete confidentiality.
However, the funds can’t be transferred to a NZFT from a UK pension fund if the client still resides in the UK. On the other hand, other freely held funds can be transferred to a NZFT
NZFTs offer total investment freedom with tax free income and growth yet allowing the ability to access 100% of the fund should circumstances change.
They also offer complete confidentiality with the client named as a trustee. Upon death, any unused funds pass on to named beneficiaries.
